When Ankita B Chandak began her journey as a Montessori educator, she couldn’t have predicted that her passion would transform into a platform reaching over 406,000 parents across India. Today, through @followyourchild, she’s become one of the country’s most trusted voices in conscious parenting.

A Multifaceted Journey

Based in Bangalore, Ankita’s path showcases the power of diverse experiences. Before becoming Head of Pre-Primary Coordinator at National Public School, she was empowering people through image consulting and soft skills training. In 2015, she conducted workshops across India, training MBA students on interview skills at Royal Group of Institutions in Guwahati, helping 30+ employees develop emotional intelligence at Miracle Technologies, and teaching 42 women about personal presentation in Siliguri.

Rather than abandoning these skills when she pivoted to early childhood education, Ankita integrated them into something unique. Her “Wear Your Glow” workshops for expecting mothers, conducted with Cloud Nine since 2016, combine image consulting expertise with understanding women’s needs during life transitions. She’s collaborated with the Image Consulting Business Institute and the Lions Club, consistently finding ways to share transformative knowledge.

The Philosophy: Following Your Child

Ankita B Chandak recognized a gap: parents felt overwhelmed by conflicting advice. She translated her institutional experience, including guiding 26 children in a mixed-age Montessori environment, into practical wisdom for real families.

“Montessori is about providing the right environment, not spending money on fancy materials,” she emphasizes. This democratic approach drives her Music Development Program, parent workshops, and one-on-one consultations for children up to six years.

Since April 2019, her “Follow Your Child” workshops have helped Bangalore’s parent community understand their children’s developmental needs and provide age-appropriate activities at home. Her message: trust your child’s natural development and observe without judgment.

Building Impact Beyond Instagram

What makes Ankita’s work resonate is her honesty. She shares her family’s choices—like maintaining device-free time—not from superiority but as one parent’s experience. “Your family, your decisions,” she emphasizes, creating judgment-free space.

Colleagues describe her as “a sharp action-oriented leader” with “high levels of IQ and EQ.” She’s expanded to podcast appearances, including the Modern Indian Parent podcast, and been recognized as a top Montessori influencer globally.

The Prepared Adult

Ankita’s most important contribution is highlighting the “prepared adult” the often-overlooked pillar of Montessori education. She asks parents: “Are we nurturing our child’s mental abilities or just making sure they eat and sleep well?” This invites deeper examination of presence and intentionality.

Her journey from training corporate teams to helping parents understand child development shows that impact isn’t limited by traditional career paths. Sometimes the most meaningful work happens when we build something that serves a need we’ve personally witnessed.

For thousands of parents, Ankita B Chandak represents the possibility of building something significant while honoring professional expertise and personal values. Through @followyourchild, she continues proving that passionate expertise, channeled thoughtfully, creates lasting change, one family at a time.
